Acting Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ronald Koll strongly condemned the senseless murder of a 28-year-old man in KwaNobuhle last night."The SAPS is condemning any act of vigilante or revenge attacks. We call on communities to strengthen sector crime forums so as to ensure that these barbaric acts are coming to an end".
This comes after a man from KwaNobuhle, Mxolisi Makasi (28), succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Tuesday, 03 March 2020 around 23:00.
It is alleged that a group of people with various weapons attacked Makasi in Gawulayo Street, KwaNobuhle about an hour earlier. At this stage, the motive for the attack is unknown.
Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Deon Arnolds at 082 779 7277. The information may also be shared via Crime Stop 08600 10111.
