PORT ELIZABETH - FIRST COVID-19 PATIENT ADMITTED TO LIVINGSTONE HOSPITAL'S ICU


Livingstone Hospital has admitted its first Covid-19 patient into the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.


This was confirmed by Eastern Cape health MEC Sindiswa Gomba.

Gomba said the Coronavirus facility in the Eastern Cape admitted a retired nurse, who was currently in ICU.

She is from Zwide.

Gomba stressed that people should adhere to the rules of the lockdown and maintain social distancing. 

Gomba said a Provincial Hospital doctor had also recently tested positive for Covid-19.

There were two other new cases in Port Elizabeth, including a man who had travelled to Australia and another man living in Summerstrand whose travel records are pending.
