On 24 May 2020, sixteen suspects between the ages of 23 and 48 years were arrested for Illegal hunting, in the Hofmeyr district.
An official from the Department of Environmental affairs, Queenstown effected the arrests when twelve (12) carcasses were found in the suspects possession.
The spring bucks were hunted with dogs and knifes which were also confiscated. The thirty-two (32) dogs were taken to the SPCA in Queenstown.
A case of Illegal hunting is being investigated by the Hofmeyr SAPS.
The suspects are due to appear in the Hofmeyr Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 26 May 2020.
