SAPS Bethelsdorp detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a 63-year-old man who went missing on 16 September 2020.
It is alleged that on the mentioned date, at about 13:00, Mcweli Faiverat Bulana from Dorfling Street in Greenfields was walking with his sister and grandmother to take a taxi.
As they left their house, the grandmother wanted to go back to the house to put on her socks.
Bulana’s sister asked the neighbour to wait with him until she returns however when the taxi arrived, he was put into the taxi.
The taxi drove off with him inside.
Bulana is mentally challenged.
It is not clear what he was wearing at the time.
Since his disappearance, police and family have searched extensively for him.
Police are requesting taxi drivers or anyone who may remember him to contact Detective Warrant Officer George Essex on 082 442 1667 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
