GQEBERHA | WITNESSES SOUGHT AFTER TEEN IS STABBED AND MURDERED IN CENTRAL

SAPS Humewood detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a suspect/s and witnesses in a murder which took place on Friday 24 December 2021 outside a party venue in Slater Street in central.

It is alleged that earlier that evening, Henrique Scott (18) and a friend arrived together at the club. Scott’s friend had gone into the venue while Scott was denied entry. 

It is further alleged that Scott got involved in a physical altercation with people outside. 

When the club closed at 23:00 due to the curfew restrictions, 

Scott was found lying on his back on the ground a few metres away from the club entrance. 

He sustained two stab wounds and was taken to hospital.

On Tuesday 28 December 2021, police were informed by the hospital that he had succumbed to his injuries and a case of murder was opened for investigation.

Video footage relating to the incident was circulating on social media hence police believe that several people witnessed the incident. 

The alleged suspect at the time of the incident was wearing a red scarf as a mask, white T-shirt, black pants and had dreadlocks/braids. The suspect is between 20-30 years old.

All information is confidential. Police would like to caution any person who is found wilfully aiding and abetting any criminal or criminal activity, is committing an offence and could be criminally prosecuted.
