A fatal accident on the R75 near the Kariega river bridge claimed the lives of two people and left two others injured, yesterday afternoon, 10 April 2023.
It is alleged that at about 16:40 the family of four were on their way home from Gauteng to Jeffrey’s Bay when the driver, a 67-year-old woman lost control of her Mazda 2 which caused the vehicle to leave the road and land in an open field.
The driver’s mother, Ms Emma Jacobs, aged 91-year-old and her granddaughter, Ms Misha Beukes, aged 11 year died on impact.
The driver and her other granddaughter, aged 9 year were taken to hospital prior to police arrival.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
